Proof of concept

For Automated Production

Do you have a great idea for a solution that would improve your production process, or an idea for a product that could create value for those who use it?

We offer to conduct a Proof of Concept for proposed automation of your current manual production process. This includes a prototype of the proposed solution based on off-the-shelf technology combined with self-developed prototypes in mechatronics.

Step 1 Achievement: Agreement with the customer regarding the proposed solution to be realized

Step 2 Achievement: Knowledge that the proposed solution will be realizable for a robot integrator, machine builder, or manufacturer

Step 1 - Proposed solution, 3D model/sketch, plan

Step 2 - Realization (prototype) of model/sketch

Efficiency and productivity: By conducting proof-of-concepts with us, you can leverage expertise, network, and experience. We have a good overview of state-of-the-art technology and use it to quickly reach our goals.

Reduction of innovation costs: By using newer production methods, our network, and already acquired experience, the costs of the innovation period will decrease.

Flexibility: By using the technology and equipment we have available, the flexibility in the innovation project will increase. MIL operates in an open lab environment, which allows for skills development during the project.

What you get

1. Identification of proposed solutions

MIL and the company outline the solution to be prototyped and create a digital model of the proposed solution.

2. Prototype of proposed solution:

MIL and the company create a prototype of the proposed solution and test whether it is feasible for a robot integrator, machine builder, or manufacturer.

3. Evaluation and next steps

MIL assists the company afterwards in specifying requirements for a robot integrator or machine builder.

Application Deadline: Rolling basis

Price: NOK 80,000 per company (Value NOK 200,000)

All projects will be conducted in close collaboration with the company at MIL's test facilities in Grimstad. We will provide access to our robots and all additional equipment, as well as our wide portfolio of 3D printers in various materials.
